<li><strong>Courage: </strong>It’s  not always easy to “put yourself out there” in business. But as they say (and  as I try to remind myself): Feel the fear and do it anyway. Sticking with what  you know is appealing, but not always the clearest road to success. Get out of  your comfort zone!</li>

Blogs are in fact everywhere. They are an intricate part of business and of the Internet presence of corporations and individuals. </p>
<p>Why? Because they are one of the most effective and economical forms of Internet marketing available today. The very reasons your competitor has a blog are the very reasons you should as well.</p>
<p>Blogs are the perfect place to show off knowledge and expertise, available products, affiliate relationships, market news, industry trends and much, much more IF (and this is a big IF) they are updated regularly with relevant content. </p>
<p>All too often, blogs are neglected shortly after their creation. And let me tell you, as someone who visits countless blogs over the course of a work-week, there is nothing worse than visiting a blog that hasn’t been updated in months, or even worse, a blog that not only isn’t current, but doesn’t contain information that is relevant to the intended purpose of the blog. (Or is too pushy, or not professional or in some way “off.”)</p>
<p>My advice: Level the playing field and establish a blog for your business. If you already have a blog, work it! If and when you do this right and update regularly with relevant content, you will see the results through increased Internet traffic, inquiries and eventually in sales. </p>

<div><p>It’s inevitable. Every year, around February or March, people start anticipating a business “summer slowdown.” They’re the same folks who talk about a “slow December” starting sometime in mid-October. Then they put off doing anything of substance until mid-January because, they reason, things are dead for a good few weeks from start of the slow December. You can certainly talk a slowdown or a slow period or a lull in business into being, but why would you want to?</p>
<p>Just like those who refuse to operate under the shadow of a recession (or whatever word they put on it), I, too, am not interested in focusing on all the potential slowdowns and lulls that can come my way. (Not to downplay high gas prices, unemployment records and everything else that is making times tough for people.) BUT….to me, marketing, and success in general, is about focusing on what you want and on where you want to be – not on all of the potentially not-so-great things that can (and, yes, do) happen.</p>
<p>I’m not saying you, or I or anyone else is immune to significant trends or to anything else that affects the masses. But why base your life (or your business) on a fear-based approach? Why not expect the best? I do…and I get it, too – no matter what the season. </p></div>
